Artillery Battery.

The Artillery work has been on the whole very satisfactory.

There was a steady improvement during the training season and

especially during the Annual Gamp. The 10 pdr. Section practice

was a great advance on the previous year and showed signs of

careful work on the part of its instructor and Offisers. The

attendance of this Section at drills and Camp was especially

good.

The Howitzer Seation showed improvement on last year, but is

still much hampered by the smallness of ite numbers.

The local diffiehlties of training with such a gun as the 5" How:

Howitzer are great, and, now that the Armanent of the Artillery

Battery has been changed from 2 10 pårs and 2 -- 5" Howitzers

to 4 - 15 pår 2. F. guns, I expect to see an increase in

efficiency and strength in this Section.

Gun Preaties.

5" 3.L. Kowitzer and 10 pår B.L. Gun practices were carried out

on 15th, 16th & 17th January, 1914. The ground over which the

former was carried out was of an extremely broken and difficult

nature and the resulta suffered accordingly. The latter

practice showed good results.

3. 274 attached.

Engineer Company.

Technical Drills were held weekly from September lat to March

31st and members attended, Infantry drills at Headquarters

and Camp with other units.

The Company provided the first relief on the Electric Lights

at Belchers Fort on the nights of 24th - 29th November 1913

inclusive and also during manoeuvres from March 23rd 27th

1914 inelusive.

Machine Gun and Civil Service Co.

A general improvement is shown in these Companies. Table ◊ Pt.1

was carried out with satisfactory results. The number of men

exercised is shown in the attached Husketry return.
